The Bane

The Bane - Keary Taylor This was fairly decent to be a free book. I felt like I was waiting the entire time for something big to happen. I'm not sure what I expected exactly, but it was an expectation of, "something big and exciting". There were some interesting things that happened during this book but it all felt kind of underwhelming.

I blame my lack of love for The Bane all on the love triangle. Why must we always have love triangles?

I was very unhappy with the love triangle because it seemed to take over the entire story. The MC went from being in a terrifying world of crazy robot humans, to a world of worry over which guy she should pick out of the love triangle. Sometimes this works in books but it certainly did not work for me here. I just didn't care and I didn't feel the connection between these characters at all.

Here is a quick description of the story: Humans began adding robotic body parts and organs to one another, which later led to a crazy robot killing spree. The robotic humans were running around killing all of the non-robotic humans. This is the story of those left trying to survive.

If you think this sounds awesome and don't mind a love triangle, then I think you will enjoy this book. I have heard that this series has been optioned for a movie.
